The NHLs Mar. Bennie Fowler III Bears Jersey . 5 Trade Deadline is drawing closer and teams will be deciding on whether to buy or sell while figuring out which players can make the biggest difference and hold the greatest value. Check out todays trade-related reports and speculation from around the NHL beat. And follow TSN.ca through Deadline Day for all the updates. Vets for Sale? Toiling in the Western Conference cellar, are the Edmonton Oilers ready to start moving some pieces out for future assets? According to TSNs hockey insiders, the Oilers could be willing to part with more than just the widely-rumoured-to-be-available Sam Gagner. Darren Dreger floated the names of veteran forwards Ales Hemsky and Ryan Smyth as both being available prior to the deadline. Smyth and Hemsky are both set to hit unrestricted free agency following the 2013-14 season, carrying cap hits of $2.25 million and $5 million, respectively. Are You Jellin? The Bruins defence corps may be without Dennis Seidenberg after season-ending knee surgery, but the Bs dont appear to be in a hurry to add a veteran to their young blue line behind captain Zdeno Chara. According to the Boston Herald General manager Peter Chiarelli is ready to be patient with his blue line before exploring the trade market for a veteran d-man. Moulson Canadian? The possibility of Matt Moulson finding a new home before Mar. 5 has been rumoured since the Buffalo Sabres acquired the pending-free agent in a deal with the New York Islanders on Oct. 27. But TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun believes the Ottawa Senators could be a suitor for Moulson if they are able to stay in the Eastern Conference playoff chase. LeBrun points to the working (and familial) relationship between Senators general manager Bryan Murray and new Sabres GM Tim Murray (Bryans nephew) as a good starting ground for discussions. The Sabres have already acquired three additional draft picks in the first two rounds of Junes NHL Draft, with one of those being a conditional first from the trade that brought Moulson to Buffalo. The Senators traded away their 2014 first round pick in the deal that landed them Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks. Joel Iyiegbuniwe Bears Jersey . This is Lowry’s third time winning the award in his career. He won the award last season and as a member of the Houston Rockets in 2011. Trey Burton Bears Jersey . - Jason Day and Cameron Tringale shot an 8-under 64 on Friday in modified alternate-shot play to increase their lead to three strokes in the Franklin Templeton Shootout.HOUSTON -- Will Bruin scored in the 91st minute to give Houston a 1-0 victory over D.C. United on Sunday night, ending the Dynamos winless streak at eight and the Washington clubs winning streak at four. Houston (6-11-4), with newcomers DeMarcus Beasley and Luis Garrido in the lineup, dominated throughout the match and finally broke through off a defensiive blunder by United defender Steve Birnbaum. Cody Parkey Bears Jersey. Birnbaum allowed a looping back pass from Taylor Kemp to bounce past him, and Omar Cummings pressed forward. Once Cummings beat both Birnbaum and goalkeeper Bill Hamid to the loose ball, he slid a crossing pass to Bruin for the goal. United (11-6-4) dropped to 0-10-1 in Houston. Cheap Stitched Jerseys Disocunt Football Jerseys Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap NFL T-shirts Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

(SportsNetwork. Terrell Edmunds Jersey .com) - The Dallas Mavericks traded for Rajon Rondo on Thursday, dealing three players and two draft picks to the Boston Celtics for the All- Star point guard, according to multiple reports. The Mavericks landed Rondo amid reports the Celtics were talking to several other teams about a possible trade, including the Houston Rockets. They also acquired rookie forward Dwight Powell, sending point guard Jameer Nelson, forwards Brandan Wright and Jae Crowder and future first- and second- round draft picks to Boston. Rondo, 28, is due to be an unrestricted free agent after this season but has made it clear to the Mavericks that he will sign a contract extension next summer, Yahoo Sports reported. Rondo was the last of the core group that led the Celtics to an NBA title in 2008, following Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen out the door. He was in his ninth season with Boston, but has played just 90 games over the last three because of various injuries, most recently a broken hand and a torn ACL. The former first-round draft pick is still filling stat sheets. He has an NBA-best three triple-doubles and is averaging a league-high 10.8 assists along with 8.3 points and 7.5 rebounds this season. Dallas made the deal while in third place in the Southwest Division, where it trails both Memphis and Houston. Reigning NBA champion San Antonio and upstart New Orleans round out the NBAs toughest division. The Mavericks signed Nelson in July after he spent his first 10 seasons with the Orlando Magic and the 32-year-old point guard averaged 7.3 points and 4.1 assists in 23 games for them. Wright, 27, is averaging 8.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in his seventh NBA season and Crowder, 24, is averaging 3.6 points in his third. Powell, a second-round draft pick out of Stanford, appeared in five games for the Celtics, scoring nine points in nine minutes. Steelers Jerseys . As they are wont to do, the Spurs made things real easy. The Spurs signed Parker to a multi-year contract extension on Friday, ensuring that the six-time All-Star point guard will be in the fold whether Duncan and Ginobili are able to continue their careers or not. Joe Haden Jersey . The Jays responded to the three-spot Detroit placed on Casey Janssen the evening before with an attack on the Tigers Achilles Heel, its bullpen, tying the game in the ninth and winning the game in the 10th. The result absolved Marcus Stroman, brilliant once again, of a tough luck loss while at the same time robbing Max Scherzer, brilliant once again, of a deserved win.The Cleveland Browns signed veteran quarterback Rex Grossman on Tuesday. The signing reunites Grossman with Cleveland offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. The pair worked together for multiple seasons in Washington. Grossman, who turns 34 this month, figures to fill the No. 3 quarterback job with Brian&nbssp;Hoyer and rookie Johnny Manziel battling for the top spot on the Browns depth chart. Terrell Edmunds Steelers Jersey. The Florida product hasnt played in the regular season since starting 13 games for the Redskins in 2011. Quarterback Tyler Thigpen was released to make room for Grossman on the roster. Cheap Stitched Jerseys Disocunt Football Jerseys Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys WholesaleWholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap NFL T-shirts Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

BOSTON -- Derek Roy blew a chance to end the game in the first minute of overtime. Simon Mignolet Liverpool Jersey . Then St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock gave him a chance to make up for it. Roy scored once in regulation and added the clincher in the fourth round of the shootout on Thursday night to lead the Blues to a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins. Roy, who hit the crossbar on a breakaway in sudden death, didnt make the same mistake when he got another chance to win it. "I usually look at body language on the bench, and Roysie was perked up he wanted to go," Hitchcock said. "So we had him go." Jaroslav Halak stopped 27 shots in regulation, two more in overtime, and three in the shootout as St. Louis won for the fourth time in five games and continued the hottest start in its history. David Backes also scored for the Blues, and NHL points-leader Alexander Steen converted their other shootout goal after going the entire game without a shot. Gregory Campbell and Carl Soderberg scored for Boston. Tuukka Rask made 24 saves and forced Roy to put one off the crossbar on a breakaway in the first minute of overtime. "I knew I could get him on that shot, and I thought I picked it perfect, and I hit crossbar," Roy said. "I wanted to redeem myself in the shootout, and Coach put me out there. ... It shows that hes got confidence in me going out in the shootout. "I just wanted to help my team win the game, and Im happy to do that and be put in that position to do that." Soderberg broke in alone in the last 15 seconds of overtime, but he meekly shot the puck into Halaks pads just before the final buzzer. That sent the game to a shootout, and Boston took an early lead when Patrice Bergeron beat Halak over his shoulder to make it 1-0. T.J. Oshie, David Krejci and Jarome Iginla all missed before Steen poked it through Rasks pads to tie it 1-1 after three tries apiece. Chris Kelly missed for Boston in the first extra round, and Roy went in quickly, skidded to a stop and then went around Rask to poke the puck in for the winner. "He told guys on the bench that he was going to do the move, and did it and got away with it," Hitchcock said. After Roys shot went in, Rask slammed his stick against the goal post and continued hammering it into the ice as he skated off to the locker room. It was the Blues 15th win in 21 games this season, giving them 33 points -- the most in the NHL. The Bruins had won six of their previous seven games and taken over the best record in the Eastern Conference. "Theres a lot of similarities" between the teams, Backes said. "I dont know if we quite have a 6-foot-9 defenceman, but theres tough to play against forwards, and teams that are disciplined and stick to the game plan. "You saw a couple of breakdowns tonight, and they all ended up in the back of the net." Each team had just one penalty in the game, and Bruins coach Claude Julien said he thought his team played well enough to win. "I thought it was a real fun game to watch," he said. "Everything, from my end, except for that extra point that I thought we should have had." The Bruins scored late in the first when Blues defenceman Ian Cole fell in his own end, allowing Boston to keep the puck in the zone. Torey Krug slid it over to Campbell, who tried to one-time it, but sculled it off the heel of his stick. The slow-moving puck seemed to confuse Halak and went into the net off the corner of the post. But the Blues tied it just 37 seconds later, when Roy wristed the puck toward the net from the left point. Stewart tried to deflect it near the circle, missing the puck but knocking a defenders stick away. Another Blues player tried to get a stick on it in the crease but it also eluded him as he was taken down by Boston defenceman Matt Bartkowski. Instead, the undeflected puck went right through Rasks legs to make it 1-all with 9 seconds left in the period. St. Louis took a 2-1 lead late in the second when Kevin Shattenkirks wrist shot from the point was deflected into the net by Backes. It was Shattenkirks 100th career assist. This time it was the Bruins turn to answer quickly. About 2 1/2 minutes after the Blues took the lead, Reilly Smith fed the puck from behind the net to Soderberg in the slot, and he beat Halak to tie it 2-2. NOTES: Hall of Famer Bobby Orr took part in a ceremonial puck drop. John "Pie" McKenzie, another member of the Bruins 1970 and 72 Stanley Cup championship teams, was also in attendance. The 1970 team swept St. Louis in the finals. ... The Bruins called up D Kevan Miller to fill in while Adam McQuaid and Dennis Seidenberg are out with undisclosed injuries. Miller made his NHL debut. ... St. Louis finished a three-game road stretch. The Blues split the first two, losing to Washington and beating Buffalo by 4-1 scores. ... The first penalty of the game was called with 1:54 gone in the third period. ... Steen entered the night tied for the NHL lead with Pittsburghs Sidney Crosby at 26. Custom Liverpool Jerseys . Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins (5) – He had a brilliant game; it was a huge response for his average games before. Virgil van Dijk Jersey .com) - Maria Sharapova reached her 10th career grand slam final after beating Ekaterina Makarova in straight sets at the Australian Open on Thursday.MALABO, Equatorial Guinea - Didier Drogba is gone, and he might soon be forgotten when it comes to Ivory Coasts national soccer team.Wilfried Bony, the newest exceptional striker from the country that also produced Yaya Toure, scored a pair of goals Sunday to put his team into the semifinals of the African Cup of Nations. The Ivorians beat Algeria 3-1 at Malabo Stadium, and it was Bony who twice gave his team the lead with headers.I think the Ivory Coast team is very lucky, Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard said. He was the best scorer in England in 2014. I think when you just said that, you can explain everything. The soon-to-be Manchester City forward first headed in a cross from Max Gradel in the 26th minute after being left completely alone at the far post. Bony scored another in the 68th by nodding in a free kick taken by Toure, his new club teammate at City. The Ivorians, who won their only African Cup title in 1992, will next face Congo on Wednesday in Bata. Four-time champion Ghana, which beat Guinea 3-0 in the other quarterfinal match, will play tournament host Equatorial Guinea in the semifinals on Thursday in Malabo. With Drogba in the team, the Ivorians twice reached the African Cup final, but both times lost on penalties. The last time was in 2012, when Renard led Zambia to a surprising victory. If Didier Drogba is not there, its not because of us, Renard said. Its because he decided to stop his international career. The Ivory Coasts other goal came from Gervinho, the Roma forward who returned from a two-match suspension after getting a straight red card in the opening match.Hilal Soudani scored Algerias goal in the 51st, beating goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo after taking a pass from Riyad Mahrez that trickled through a weak Ivory Coast defence. In the earlier match, Christian Atsu scored two goals and Kwesi Appiah added the other to put Ghana into the African Cup semifinals for the fifth straight time.Atsu, who plays in Englland for Everton, gave the Black Stars the lead in the fourth minute by scoring after a backheel pass from Andre Ayew. Dominic Solanke Jersey. He added another in the 61st, whipping in a shot from the right side.Appiah scored the second goal of the match in the 44th, controlling a horrible defensive mistake from Baissama Sankoh and beating Guinea goalkeeper Naby Yattara. For us, I think we had a winning mentality, Atsu said. We went for a win and we worked hard for it. Thats why we won the game. Not because they are a bad team. We went for a win. Thats all.Guinea finished the match with 10 men after Yattara was given a red card in injury time for a foul on Asamoah Gyan. Abdoulaye Cisse then played in goal for the final seconds.Ghana came into the match as the favourite, and needed only a few minutes to take the lead. Appiah took the ball down the left side before passing to Ayew in the area, and the Marseille forward then used his heel to slide the ball to Atsu for the goal. The match slowed for most of the next 40 minutes, with Guinea captain Ibrahima Traore doing his best to create chances for his team.We lost a goal almost from kickoff, which hurt our confidence, and then lost another goal just before break, Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer said. It makes things complicated against a team with the talent of Ghana.Guinea needed a touch of luck just to make it this far. The team finished tied with Mali after both teams drew 1-1 in all three Group D matches. But Guinea advanced after winning a drawing of lots on Thursday.Just qualifying for the 2015 tournament was a surprise for many, however. Guinea is one of the three worst affected countries of the Ebola outbreak and the national team was forced to play its home qualifying matches outside its borders. We need to put things into perspective, Ghana are a great team, Dussuyer said. We go out with regrets in this match but must not forget the road we have come down before today. Cheap Stitched Jerseys Disocunt Football Jerseys Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap NFL T-shirts Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

MIAMI -- Marcell Ozuna has given the Miami Marlins big hits and some hope for the future. Brandon Allen Rams Jersey . The 22-year-old rookie outfielder drove in two runs to help the Marlins to a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night in interleague play. "Hes put together a lot of great at-bats, big at-bats, and he did again tonight," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. Ozuna is hitting .438 (21 for 48) with runners in scoring position, driving in 22 runs for the last-place Marlins. "Just going to home plate and thinking, see the ball up a little bit and if its in the middle, swing or if its away and up, swing no matter what," Ozuna said. Derek Dietrich also provided some offence with a home run for the Marlins, who have won four of five. A.J. Ramos (2-2) pitched two scoreless innings in relief and Steve Cishek worked the ninth for his 13th save. Minnesota dropped its third game in the last four. "It wasnt our night," Twins manager Rod Gardenhire said. "We left some pitches up in the zone late. Every time we did, they seemed to whack it. We also made three errors. You dont win too many games when you make three errors whether it costs you runs or not." Miami starter Jose Fernandez allowed one run and four hits in five innings. The 20-year-old phenom struck out three and walked three while throwing 94 pitches, 59 for strikes. "He kept us in it," Redmond said. "You think about a young kid who didnt really have his best stuff, but still was pretty impressive out there and made pitches when he absolutely needed to. Thats the kind of guy he is." Fernandez is 2-1 with a 1.67 ERA in five June starts. "I wanted to keep pitching, but my stuff wasnt there today and I agree with the decision," Fernandez said. Minnesotas Justin Morneau appeared to line into a double play to end the eighth, but first baseman Logan Morrison dropped the throw, allowing Joe Mauer to remain on base. Two batters later, Trevor Plouffe took advantage of Morrisons error with an RBI single, scoring Mauer to cut the deficit to 3-2. Ozunas RBI double in the bottom of the eighth after Morrison doubled pushed the lead to 4-2. "Im really proud of (Ozuna) and surprised hes doing so well especially driving in tough runs," Morrison said. Cishek retired the Twins in order in the ninth. Josh Willinghams RBI single in the third opened the scoring for Minnesota. Kevin Correia (6-5) held the Marlins scoreless through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth. After Ed Lucas singled and Giancarlo Stanton walked, Morrison singled to load the bases. Ozuna singled to centre, scoring Lucas as centre fielder Clete Thomas bobbled the ball, also allowing Stanton to score for a 2-1 lead. "I felt I made one bad pitch that inning and that was enough to give up a couple of runs," Correia said. Correia allowed two runs and five hits in six innings after beating the Marlins on April 23. Brian Duensing relieved Correia and yielded a home run to Dietrich, his seventh, for a 3-1 advantage. It was a rare home run as Duensing had not surrendered one in his previous 48 appearances and Dietrich was hitless in 17 at-bats before the homer. "He made a simple adjustment for that at-bat," Redmond said. "He couldnt find his elbow guard and I told him, Well, dont wear the elbow guard and he hit a home run. Then the next time he had the elbow guard on and I said, Take the elbow guard off and he still got out, but I think were headed in the right direction." NOTES: Morrison has five multi-hit games in 11 games since returning from the disabled list. ... Twins RHP Mike Pelfrey was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday retroactive to June 19, but Gardenhire believes the break will benefit Pelfrey, who missed last season with Tommy John surgery. "This is probably a good time of the season to take a step back, miss a couple of starts," Gardenhire said. "He told me hes probably 90 per cent right now, so believe me, he wont miss much work." ... Minnesota will send LHP Scott Diamond (5-6, 5.27 ERA) to the mound in the Wednesday afternoon finale against RHP Tom Koehler (1-5, 4.65 ERA). Aqib Talib Rams Jersey .The South African had three birdies on the front nine and another four after the turn at Leopard Creek Country Club to move to 16-under 128 overall.Grace, who won all four of his European Tour titles in 2012, dropped his only shot of the competition on the par-3 fifth. Brandin Cooks Rams Jersey . The 23-year-old from Thornhill, Ont., defeated Germanys Benjamin Becker 6-3, 6-4 on Tuesday in the fourth round of the Sony Open in just 89 minutes.TORONTO -- DeMar DeRozan leaned over Kyle Lowry after the final buzzer sounded to end the Toronto Raptors season -- Lowry was laying distraught on the floor, his face in his hands. DeRozan was above him, speaking with urgency. It was a moment that said volumes about this young Raptors squad: their unexpected record-breaking season and their thrilling run through the playoffs, and the bonds they built along the way. "Thats my man," Lowry said of DeRozan. "He said, If anybody is taking that shot, Im living and dying with you taking that shot, or trying to attempt to get that shot off. It was a great brotherly moment." Lowry, who led the Raptors with 28 points Sunday, had just been blocked on a shot at the buzzer, giving the Brooklyn Nets a 104-103 Game 7 victory and ending the Raptors first playoff run in six seasons. "The play was to get me the ball, but they did a good job of trapping me, and I didnt get that shot off that I wanted to get off," said Lowry. Amir Johnson had a playoff-high 20 points plus 10 rebounds before fouling out of the game with 7:53 to play. DeRozan added 18 points for the Raptors, who were hoping to see the second round of the playoffs for just the second time in the franchises 19-year history. Patrick Patterson finished with 16 points, while Terrence Ross had 11. "Im proud of our guys," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said afterward. "Nobody gave them a snowballs chance in you-know-where to be here. Each game (in the series), a young player grew and learned something. "This group has a lot of stuff in front of them, a lot of basketball in front of them. This organizations in a great spot. Theyre going to be good." Still, it was a heartbreaking ending to a season that began with low expectations but ended with such high hopes, the remarkable turnaround coming after the seven-player trade in December that sent Rudy Gay to Sacramento. The Raptors went on to record a franchise-high 48 wins, claim the Atlantic Division title and earn the No. 3 seed in the East. "Its definitely tough to take this loss, but we had a helluva fight, man," said DeRozan, holding his infant daughter Diar, clad in a tiny No. 10 jersey with a big red bow in her hair. "Nobody picked us to make it this far, to win these many games." A one-point game was a fitting ending to a season-long battle between these two teams. The total scores were identical -- 1070-1070 -- over the 10 games played. Toronto, desperate to keep its season going, played like it was feeling the pressure for much of the afternoon, trailing by as much as 12 points in the third quarter in front of an Air Canada Centre crowd that was hungry for a playoff series win. They trailed 81-73 going into the fourth, but a Toronto team that has been so strong down the stretch all season long pulled within five on a basket by Lowry with 7:20 to play. With the fans on their feet for the final couple of minutes left, the Raptors kept their foot on the pedal and it was a three-point game with 22 seconds left. Lowry drove to the hoop for a basket to cut the deficit to a point, but Shaun Livingston made two free throws to put Brooklyn back up by three with 13 seconds to play. Ross answered with a basket, and then stole the ball off Livingston with six seconds left. Lowry drove to the rim on the Raptors final possession, but three Nets players clogged the lane, and it was game over. "I just told him, Dont worry about it," said DeRozan, who ran to Lowry after buzzer. "I can sleep at night knowing he took that shot. I can live with that. Dont be down on yourself, thats what I was telling him. I told him without him we wouldnt even be in that situation." The capacity crowd of 20,457 chanted "Lets go Raptors!" as the dejected players left the court. Joe Johnson scored 26 points to lead the Nets, who will face the two-time defending champion Heat beginning Tuesday in Miami. Marcus Thornton finished with 17. Deron Williams had 13 points, Kevin Garnett had 12 and Paul Pierce 10. "It feels so much better when you do it on the road because you know you earned it," said Pierce, who was acquired along withh Garnett in the off-season in the Nets plan to win an NBA title. Joseph Noteboom Jersey. "Everybody is against you. I cant say some of the things they were calling me out there. You were against not only 15,000 in the building, you were against the 15,000 outside. Nobody is with you." Lowry lingered long at his locker after the game. He arrived at the press conference still dressed in her jersey, his two-year-old son Karter at his side. Asked what was going through his mind he said: "Whats not? Its a lot of things that could have been done differently, but this season has been a great season. Ive had the best core group of teammates that Ive ever had in my life, in my career. . . its just a lot. "Mad, frustrated. But understanding that this is only a stepping stone for my growth." The Air Canada Centre and its fans resembled a massive Maple Leaf -- fans in the end sections wore red "We The North" shirts, while fans in the middle sections wore white. Drake, former Raptor Charles Oakley, and Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf and his wife Elisha Cuthbert sat courtside. Coach Casey was forced to take the subway to the game. He got stuck in traffic due to road closures for the Toronto Marathon, and did a U-turn and headed for the subway. Pictures of Casey -- dressed in a black Canada Goose bomber jacket with black Raptors T-shirt -- surfaced on Twitter soon after. Casey, whose contract expires after this season, said his players will draw inspiration from the series, saying theyll be in the gym on warm summer nights thinking about how close they came. "We would have loved to have been there. We put ourselves in a position, one shot, one free throw, one offensive rebound here or there. That close," Casey said, holding up two fingers. "Thats what I told the team. We were right there." Lowry becomes a free agent on July 1, but when asked about his future, he said his mind was still on the series and its ending. DeRozan said he hasnt talked to Lowry about his future. "I dont need to say nothing to him," DeRozan said. "Im not worried about that, the relationship Kyle and I have, he knows. I dont have to say much. Why would he leave? Thats my opinion, thats how I look at it." Raptors versus Nets made for a spirited first-round series since before the first game even tipped off, beginning when the Nets sat their starters at the end of the regular season in order to drop to sixth in the East to face the Raptors -- whom they saw as easier prey than Chicago. Toronto general manager Masai Ujiri fired a shot back, dropping his famous F-bomb about Brooklyn when addressing the Maple Leaf Square crowd prior to Game 1. Sunday afternoon, some 10,000 fans packed the sunny Maple Leaf Square and spilled into roads leading into it to watch the game on the giant screen outside the ACC. Ujiri addressed the fans once again. This time he would only say: "You know how I feel." Tim Leiweke, the president of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, also addressed the crowd. "The other night the whole team, they put you in the locker-room before the game so we could understand what were playing for," Leiweke told the fans. "Tonight, today, we play for you. God bless you." Prime Minister Stephen Harper posted on Twitter: "Great effort (at)Raptors! Came up short but were all looking forward to next season. .WeTheNorth .NothernUprising .RTZ" Vince Carter led the Raptors past the New York Knicks and into the second round of the playoffs in 2001, where they lost the Philadelphia 4-3. Toronto missed its first three shots but then calmed down and a driving Greivis Vasquez jumper with two minutes to go in the first quarter gave the Raptors a six-point lead. They went into the second up 28-26. The Raptors allowed the Nets to shoot 67 per cent in the second, and Brooklyn went up by 10 on long pullup jumper by Livingston with 29 seconds left. The Nets led 61-53 at halftime. Toronto pulled to within six points on a driving layup by Lowry with 6:10 left in the third, but couldnt build any momentum, and the Nets were back up by 12 less than three minutes later. The Nets took an eight-point lead into the fourth.Cheap Stitched Jerseys Disocunt Football Jerseys Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap NFL T-shirts Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

KARUIZAWA, Japan -- SMU junior Bryson DeChambeau birdied the final hole and Canadian playing partner Corey Conners closed with a bogey to give the United States a two-stroke victory Saturday in the World Amateur Team Championship. Torrey Smith Jersey . The United States won the Eisenhower Trophy for the record 15th time in the biennial event, successfully defending its 2012 title in Turkey. DeChambeau hit a 110-yard wedge shot to 9 feet to set up his birdie on the par-4 18th. "I knew where we stood when I was on the 18th tee box and I knew that I needed a birdie on the last," DeChambeau said. "I striped my drive and hit a wedge in there and nailed that nine-footer. I said that I needed to make birdie and I went out and made birdie" Conners three-putted from 35 feet from the back collar. "I didnt know about the scores and I wasnt sure if his would be counting or not," Conners said. "There was never a doubt that he was going to make it. It was a pretty nice looking putt." Spains Jon Rahm broke Jack Nicklaus individual record, closing with a 5-under 67 on Karuizawa 72 Golf Easts Iriyama Course for a 23-under 263 total. Nicklaus finished at 269 in 1960 at Merion in Pennsylvania. "Im about ready to cry right now because, honestly, Jack Nicklaus is a hero," said Rahm, a junior at Arizona State. "I cant really explain how good it feels to beat his record. Its just unbelievable." DeChambeau, from Clovis, California, had a 73 in the final group, and Virginia senior Denny McCarthy added a 64 to give the United States a record 38-under 534 total. Texas sophomore Beau Hossler shot 75, with only the top two scores counting in the team total. "It was very exciting right down to the last putt," U.S. captain Jim Hyler said. "Im so thrilled for these three young men. They played really hard all four days. We had different people count each day and it is a team event and I think the way it worked out for us really highlights what a great team event it is." The U.S. broke the record of 554 set by the Netherlands in 2006 in South Africa. "Theres personal achievements that weve all had but its in a different league to play for your country and represent your country well," said Hossler, from Mission Viejo, California. "Were very proud of what weve done this week. Denny and Bryson played incredibly these last two days and for me to reap the benefits of that is nice. I struggled today." On Friday, DeChambeau had a tournament-record 10-under 61 on the Oshitate Course to help the Americans take a three-stroke lead into the final round. Canada, six shots back entering the day, tied for the lead with a two-stroke swing on 18 in the third-to-last group. Barry Universitys Adam Svensson made a birdie for Canada, and McCarthy had a bogey for the U.S. McCarthy played the first eight holes in 8 under with an eagle, six birdies and a par. He broke the tournament nine-hole record at 8-under 28. "I knew my score was counting for sure so my game plan on the back nine was to not do anything stupid or crazy and not drop any shots," said McCarthy, from Rockville, Maryland. "At the same time, I still needed to be aggressive and give myself chances because he (Svensson) was making birdies and I knew he was going to count for Canada." Svensson finished with a 65. Conners, the U.S. Amateur runner-up, added a 68, and former Kent State teammate Taylor Pendrith had a 70. "We fought back really hard," Canadian captain Graham Hill said. "We knew that we were going to have to play well to have a chance and we played great and brought it right to the last hole. They also traded punches with the Ducks in several fights and numerous scrums, leading to 165 combined penalty minutes and the team togetherness that still seems to result from old-time hockey fisticuffs. Its nice to see guys step up for one another, Vlasic said. Guys love it. Doesnt matter who it is when guys step up and get in somebodys face and fight.Antti Niemi made 33 saves as San Jose rebounded aggressively from an embarrassing home loss to lowly Buffalo on Saturday, taking a 3-0 lead after two dominant periods. The third turned into a prolonged brawl featuring 127 penalty minutes and ending with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry in the Ducks dressing room.Thats hockey, I guess, said San Joses Adam Burish, who got a misconduct penalty for scrapping with Nate Thompson with 6:04 to play. Its a rivalry. Its two good teams that dont like each other, two elite teams, and those things can happen.Patrick Marleau and Logan Couture had two assists apiece for the Sharks.Niemi believes a bruising victory can bring a team together: I think for sure. I hope thats what it does. I think thats what it should do.Matt Beleskey scored for the Western Conference-leading Ducks, who hadnt lost since opening night on Oct. 9.Frederik Andersen stopped 33 shots, but his 10-start winning streak ended as Anaheim wrapped up a five-game homestand in unimpressive fashion. The whole game was pretty deflating forr us, said Getzlaf, who got sent off after fighting James Sheppard with 3:06 to play. Marquis Haynes Jersey. Weve been playing pretty good hockey as of late, and youre going to play one of these kinds of games once in a while. It just (stinks) that it has to be against these guys.Although the Ducks are off to another strong start, they couldnt match last October. Anaheim won its first eight home games last season and went 20-0-2 before its first regulation defeat in late January.Andersen also wasnt exceptional in his first loss since March 29 last season, yielding two first-period goals and failing to stop Vlasics unassuming backhand in the second. The Danish netminder had been 6-0 this season with a 1.32 goals-against average, becoming the first goalie in NHL history to win 26 of his first 31 decisions. We werent ready from the beginning, Andersen said. They lost last night, so they came out strong, and we werent ready for that. Thats just not good enough. We got the two points the last seven games, but I think we started thinking it was probably a little bit too easy.Shortly after Perry and Justin Braun left with misconducts in the third period, a multiplayer brawl broke out in the corner. The officials ruled that San Joses John Scott left the bench to engage, possibly earning a suspension in a fight that ended with Andersen pulling players off the pile.I dont know how they came up with that, but that was a mistake, San Jose Coach Todd McLellan said, asserting Scott was on the ice legally.Beleskey ended Niemis shutout bid with 5:07 to play.NOTES: Before the game, Anaheim reassigned forward Chris Wagner to its AHL affiliate in Norfolk. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 17. ... Sami Vatanen got a penalty for embellishment after Scott Hannans stick hit him in the face during the second period. CLEVELAND -- Justin Masterson pitched neatly into the eighth inning and the Cleveland Indians beat the White Sox 2-0 Saturday night in a game highlighted by Chicago rookie Jose Abreus snazzy glove toss. Josh Sweat Jersey . Abreu, who leads the majors in homers and RBIs, struck out with two runners on base to end the eighth. Earlier, the Cuban first baseman made the play of the day. Abreu fielded Lonnie Chisenhalls grounder in the sixth and, unable to get the ball out of his mitt, flipped the glove about 10 feet to pitcher Scott Carroll covering the bag for the out. Masterson (1-1) held the ALs highest-scoring offence in check, allowing four hits and striking out six in his seventh start of the season. The right-hander won for the first time since last Aug. 21. Cody Allen struck out Abreu in the eighth. John Axford pitched the ninth for his ninth save, sending Chicago to its fourth straight loss. Cleveland centre fielder Michael Bourn left in the fourth because of tightness in his left hamstring. He strained the same hamstring in spring training and began the season on the disabled list. Indians designated hitter Jason Giambi left the game in the sixth with a cramp in his right calf. Errors by third baseman Marcus Semien and catcher Tyler Flowers made both of Clevelands runs unearned. The Indians also made two errors. Nick Swisher had a sacrifice fly in the sixth for the Indians, who have won two in a row after breaking a six-game losing streak. Carroll (1-1) didnt allow an earned run in six innings in his second major league start. Semiens dropped popup handed the Indians a run in the second. Semien drifted under a ball near the mound hit by David Murphy with two outs, but it fell out of his glove and Chisenhall scored from third. Chisenhall started the inning with a double. Cleveland got another gift in the fifth. Flowers fielded Jose Ramirezs bunt, but threw wildly to first. Ramirez was credited with a hit and took second on the error. Mike Aviles sacrifice moved Ramirez to third and Swishers fly ball made it 2-0. Chisenhalls throwing error led to a Chicago threat in the fifth. A walk and a hit batter loaded the bases with one out, but Swisher made a diving grab of Semiens line drive and doubled Flowers off first. Masterson also pitched around shortstop Asdrubal Cabreras fielding error in the third. Alexei Ramirez, the leading hitter in the AL, was hitless in four at-bats. NOTES: The Indians placed C Yan Gomes on the paternity list. Wife Jenna gave birth to the couples first child Saturday morning. Carlos Santana started behind the plate for the sixth time this season. ... The White Sox put OF Adam Eaton on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right hamstring. Anthony has said he plans to become a free agent this summer. The NBAs trade deadline is Thursday, but Anthony ruled out any chance the Knicks would move him to avoid the possibility they could lose him for nothing in July. "I know for a fact Im not being traded," Anthony said at the NBAs All-Star weekend. "Theres two things: I know for a fact Im not being traded and Im not going in there and saying I want to be traded." New York can pay him around $30 million more than any team, but Anthony said he wouldnt insist on making the Knicks do it. "As far as the money, it dont really matter to me. If I go somewhere else I get paid, if I stay in New York I get paid," Anthony said. "So as far as the money goes, thats not my concern. My concern is being able to compete on a high level, at a championship level coming at this last stretch of my career." The Knicks arent doing it now. They are 20-32, one of the leagues biggest disappointments after winning the Atlantic Division last season, and are wasting a strong season by Anthony that has him ranked second in the league with 27. Dallas Goedert Eagles Jersey. 3 points per game while also averaging 8.6 rebounds. The Knicks need plenty more, and it will be tough to get because they are already so far over the salary cap. Not having to pay Anthony all of the more than $120 million he would be eligible for could help. "I talk to people all the time. I always say if it takes me taking a pay cut, Ill be the first one on Mr. Dolans step saying, Take my money, lets build something stronger," Anthony said, referring to Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan. Anthony was traded to New York just after the All-Star game three years ago and has reached the playoffs in each season. But they are currently out of the playoff picture even in the weak Eastern Conference, and Anthony will have to decide if he feels they can put a championship team around him as he approaches his 30th birthday. "He makes really good decisions and I feel this decision for him will be no different," said the Clippers Chris Paul, one of Anthonys closest friends in the league. "I know he loves it there. His family loves it there. Most of all, he loves to play basketball there. I dont know what his decision will be, but whatever he does, Ill support him 110 per cent." Cheap Stitched Jerseys Disocunt Football JerseysDiscount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap NFL T-shirts Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has received glowing tributes from the Italian Prime Minister and the media in his homeland after his teams title win. Dejan Lovren Jersey . Ranieri claimed his maiden top-flight success as his side became champions of England for the first time in their 132-year history on Monday when nearest challengers Tottenham were held 2-2 by Chelsea. Its the greatest achievement in the history of English football, and it was led by an Italian, Matteo Renzi, the Italian Premier wrote on social media. King Claudio, read the headline on the front page of Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday, above a statuesque image of Ranieri as the Roman emperor Claudius. The 64-year-old former Chelsea boss had earned a reputation as a journeyman in football, and before arriving at Leicester, Ranieri was fired by Greece as his short reign ended with a defeat at home to Faroe Islands.I always thought that sooner or later I would win a league title, Ranieri told Italian state TV Rai late Monday. Im the same man who was sent away by Greece. The only dedication I want to make to everyone is to tell them to believe and give things a try, not only in football but in every area of life. The 10-year deal the league and players agreed to that ended the 2011 lockout gave either side the right to opt out after six years. With the league projecting financial growth, there has been speculation that players will take that option in three years, especially since a new national TV contract will be in place by then.LeBron James reportedly decided to opt out of his contract with the Miami Heat on Tuesday. Heres a few quick thoughts of what this Decision means to me. 1. CONTROL: Hes the best player by far on the planet so its his contractual right to exercise this clause and I agree with him. Old-timers and traditionalists might not like it but its the reality of pro sports in the 21st century. Great actors/actresses set the tone and select what movies/plays they want to perform in and who they want to work with and for and LeBron is at that level in the "sports/entertainment industry" that former NBA commissioner David Stern created with the emphasis on stars over teams. This is a creation of that. Right, wrong or indifferent - it is what it is. Hes negotiated and earned the right to reconsider and re-explore what hed like to do with his career. The man is serious about his game and is a student of the game and wants/needs some space here to evaluate. 2. MIAMI HEAT: We all saw them with our own eyes in the NBA Finals vs. the Spurs. The reality is that the current team as constructed needs major improvements or they wont challenge against the superior Western Conference teams for an NBA title. In addition, if an Eastern team like the Chicago Bulls gets back a healthy Derrick Rose and is able to acquire Kevin Love and/or Carmelo Anthony who is to say that theyre even the No. 1 contender in the East anymore? Do you honestly believe that Dwyane Wade is going to give you 70-75+ regular season games and four playoff rounds at a high level at $20 million per year? Is Chris Bosh still committed to playing in all areas of the game rather than just becoming a jump shooter? If Im LeBron I have my doubts. A few smart tweaks with Wade and Bosh sacrificing some money opens up the possibility of it all working again...yet its far from a sure thing. 3. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS: Owner Dan Gilbert blasted LeBron on the way out the door after "The Decision". Does LeBBron forgive and forget? Does new GM David Griffin have the wherewithal/pedigree to pull off such a heist? He and Kyrie Irving together - not bad. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Jersey. . They have the No. 1 Pick and some talented young guys they can package to move to Minnesota for Kevin Love. How does Irving, Love and LeBron sound to you? It would be a better Big Three at this point that the Miami version even though both Love and Irving have put up "numbers", yet still havent shown me yet that theyre truly special. What a return this would be. 4. OTHER SUITORS (Chicago, Houston, LA Lakers): Youll hear about all three and more in the hunt for the King. Needless to say, you put him on the Bulls or Rockets and theyre in the hunt for a title. The Lakers? Kobe and LeBron would be an interesting pairing but what does the rest of the roster look like? How long does Kobe hold up? Lots more questions than answers in LA. The rumour mill will surely be filled with gossip from all three of these spots. 5. TORONTO RAPTORS: Not saying this because its wishful thinking on my part. Seriously, why not? They desperately need a starting small forward. You put him with a re-signed Kyle Lowry, Demar DeRozan, a re-signed Patrick Patterson and Jonas Valanciunas with a re-signed Greivis Vasquez, Terrence Ross and Amir Johnson and Ill take my chances with anyone in the East. On a league-wide scale Im not scared by anyone with that crew on my side. You want hoops to grow in Toronto and across the country - go for it. Nothing to lose. Realistic? Maybe not but honestly thats not a bad eight-man core whatsoever. Obviously, the salary cap/luxury tax always comes into play but for a player of this magnitude you explore every possibility. It would actually be a very good team if it ever happened. Why not Toronto? Its about time we stick our chests out and go for it. I like the style of GM Masai Ujiri and CEO Tim Leiweke and this fits them if its a reasonable pursuit.Cheap Stitched Jerseys Disocunt Football Jerseys Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap NFL T-shirts Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

MANCHESTER, England -- England defender Luke Shaw became the worlds most expensive teenage player on Friday and Manchester Uniteds second signing in 24 hours following its worst English Premier League campaign. Josh Jackson Packers Jersey . The 18-year-old left back joined United from Southampton, reportedly for more than 27 million pounds ($46 million), straight after returning from his first World Cup with England. Southampton confirmed the deal made Shaw "the most expensive teenager ever," which would eclipse fees of around 26 million pounds ($44 million) that saw Wayne Rooney join Manchester United in 2004 and Marquinhos sign for Paris Saint-Germain last year. Shaw signed a four-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year if he continues to develop as one of the most exciting youngsters in football. "I want to continue to progress my career and joining United is the ideal place for me to do that," Shaw said in a statement. Louis van Gaal doesnt officially take charge at United until his World Cup campaign as Netherlands manager is over, but players are being signed ready for the Dutchmans arrival. United paid around $50 million for Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera the day before Shaws arrival. The record 20-time English champions are spending early in the summer transfer window after dithering last year in the post-Alex Ferguson era led to an alarming, and costly, slump on the pitch. David Moyes was fired just before the season ended with United going from 2013 champions to seventh-place finishers last month. Uniteds management has convinced Shaw to join them despite the lack of Champions League football next season. Having already made 67 first-team appearances at Southampton, Shaw will be hoping he isnt just the backup to 33-year-old Patrice Evra at left back. "Luke is a very talented young left back with great potential," assistant manager Ryan Giggs said. "He has developed immensely during his time at Southampton." Shaw usurped Ashley Cole as backup to Leighton Baines in the England World Cup squad, leading to the Chelsea veterans international retirement. Shaw, who made his international debut only in March, won his third cap in Tuesdays 0-0 draw with Costa Rica before Englands early exit from Brazil. Shaw is the latest departure from Southampton since the south-coast club achieved its highest-ever Premier League points tally to finish eighth in May. Manager Mauricio Pochettino left for Tottenham, striker Rickie Lambert joined Liverpool, and midfielder Adam Lallana is also set for a move to Anfield. Custom Packers Jerseys . EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Josh Freeman signed with the New York Giants on Monday to be a backup quarterback to Eli Manning. Freeman was released by Tampa Bay early last season and spent the rest of 2013 with Minnesota. His one start for the Vikings was in a 23-7 loss to the Giants in which he struggled, going 20 of 53 for 190 yards with an interception. Freeman is the 15th veteran the Giants have added in free agency. He joins Manning, Curtis Painter and Ryan Nassib as quarterbacks on the roster. New York is expected to keep either two or three quarterbacks next season. Tampa Bay cut Freeman in a messy split last year. He was the Buccaneers first-round draft pick in 2009 out of Kansas State. He became a starter in November of that year and started 60 games for Tampa Bay. Freemans quarterbackss coach in Minnesota was Craig Johnson, now the Giants running backs coach. Josh Jackson Jersey. "Im definitely excited about being a part of this great organization," the 26-year-old Freeman said during the teams first day of off-season conditioning. "Obviously, its a chance to go play quality football, learn from some great coaches, learn from a great quarterback in Eli. ... Yeah, Im definitely looking forward to it." Freeman went 0-3 as a starter in 2013 with the Buccaneers before being cut on Oct. 3. He signed with the Vikings five days later, but other than his start against the Giants, he was a nonfactor in Minnesota. "Last year was rough all around, but Im happy to get a new start here and have an opportunity to be there for the Giants and see where it goes," he said. Cheap Stitched Jerseys Disocunt Football Jerseys Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap NFL T-shirts Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

Finleys agent, Blake Baratz, said Thursday that Finley has been working with the Packers organization in determining whats best after suffering a neck injury last month in a game against the Browns. Baratz said it was collectively determined that surgery may not be 100 per cent necessary, but is a "proactive measure that should alleviate future risks with regards to a similar episode or re-injury." The statement said Finleys long-term health is the primary concern, and that Finley intends to resume playing again after surgery to be performed by the Pittsburgh Steelers team neurosurgeon. No timeline for surgery was given. The doctoor, Joseph Maroon, is experienced in conducting the type of procedure on professional athletes in contact sports, and is confident of a full recovery for Finley, the statement said. Markelle Fultz Jersey.
