ATLANTA - The Raptors will be without their sixth man for at least another week, they learned on Tuesday. Eric Staal Jersey . After a re-evaluation of the ulnar collateral sprain in his right elbow on Monday, Patrick Patterson, who has missed the teams last five contests, was ruled out of game action for another seven days, though he will be able to return to limited basketball activity. Patterson, wearing a supporting brace on his injured elbow as he got some work in during Raptors shootaround, was disappointed to hear the news. "[Its] more bad news than good," he admitted ahead of Tuesdays game in Atlanta. "I had hopes that I would be able to come out here and participate with the team and get back to basketball." The Raptors versatile back-up said hes experiencing very little pain in his right arm, just discomfort, one of the reasons why he had hoped to be back on the court by now. "From when it initially happened up until now I had pain, constantly, on the court, certain types of movements or certain types of contact would aggravate it," said Patterson, who leads all Toronto reserves in scoring, averaging 9.7 points along with 5.2 rebounds since being acquired from Sacramento on December 9.  "But now, today, theres very little pain. All the movements that hurt before dont hurt now. In my mind, Im thinking I can [play] just going off that pain factor, but doing the ultrasound and seeing the images and seeing how far its come along to today, Im definitely happy to know how soon I can return." Its not clear exactly how Patterson initially sustained the injury. He believes it originally occurred in a game against the Wizards back in February and he aggravated it in a win over the Kings on March 7. "It is frustrating," he said, not being able to pinpoint exactly how he hurt his elbow. "If I knew what happened, hopefully I could prevent it from happening again." Patterson had become one of the teams most valuable and consistent contributors, anchoring a second unit that has been much improved since his arrival in December. In his absence, Dwane Casey has used the trio of Steve Novak, Chuck Hayes and Tyler Hansbrough as stopgaps off the bench. Unlike Patterson, a well-rounded, two-way player, his three replacements are best suited in situational roles. Each forward has stepped up to some degree, but Pattersons shoes have not been easy to fill. Without Patterson in the lineup over the previous five games, the Raptors bench has been outscored by a total of 50 points. The oppositions reserves have bested them by 65 alone over the last two contests. "At least we have to hold serve," Casey said of his second unit. "Weve got to find a go-to player or a guy that can produce for us, point-wise, with that second unit. Pat was giving us some points or at least spacing the floor for us where it did give [Greivis Vasquez] opportunities to drive to the basket." Casey would not call the latest news on Pattersons injury a setback. The team was not expecting him to be able to return right away. The Raptors forward will be assessed again after this seven-day period and if the new timetable holds true he should miss another four-to-six games. "It could be worse, thats the way I always look at it," said Patterson. "Thats what my team and the training staff is telling me, it could be worse, but youre in a positive situation, at least you know where you stand and how soon you can come back." Luke Kunin Jersey . "This is my city," the Toronto native said upon his arrival Wednesday night. And the 35-year-old former league MVP says he is hoping to making 2014 a memorable year. Chris Stewart Jersey . Appearing on TSN 690 Monday afternoon, Mike Babcock said he had conversations with both P.K. Subban and Carey Price about those on-ice traits during Hockey Canadas summer orientation camp. Mike Babcock: McGill experience, P.NEW YORK -- Adam Wainwright threw seven neat innings before leaving with a knee injury, and Jon Jay hit a two-run single that sent the St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-0 victory over the New York Mets on Tuesday night. Left fielder Matt Holliday robbed Chris Young of a tying homer, one night after the Metss played some dazzling defence of their own to post a shutout in the series opener. Joel Eriksson Ek Jersey. . Wainwright (4-1) faced the minimum through four innings and outpitched Dillon Gee. Washington, DC (SportsNetwork. Jon Casey Jersey .com) - Troy Brouwer scored the game-winning goal with just 12.9 seconds to play and the Washington Capitals nabbed a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2015 Winter Classic from Nationals Park. The game appeared headed to overtime, but a penalty to Jonathan Toews at 18:47 gave the Capitals a power play, and just under a minute later a mid-ice faceoff was won by the Capitals that saw Alex Ovechkin bring it into the Chicago end. Ovechkin had his stick broken at the left circle and lost control of the puck, but Brouwer was there for a turnaround shot that beat Corey Crawford for the lead. When I saw the puck laying at his feet when he broke his stick, somebody had to try to keep alive, said Brouwer. So I turned around, threw it to the net. Im not sure where it even went in, but I heard the noise of the crowd, heard the noise of the guys on the ice, and it was one of those where you know the time, you know the score, and youre just trying to get a puck on net, and thankfully it went in. Braden Holtby then sealed the victory with a tough save on a Patrick Kane shot just before time expired to give the Capitals their second victory in the New Years Day event. Washington had won a 3-1 decision over the Penguins at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh in 2011, and is now the first team to win two games at this annual event. Ovechkin finished the game with a goal and an assist, while Eric Fehr also lit the lamp for the Capitals, who had come into the game having lost two of their last three games. Holtby finished the game with 33 stops. The whole day was unbelievable, said Ovechkin. It has been outstanding. The atmosphere on the ice, like, since first second was like unreal. Its a good one before all our lives, and Im pretty sure Im going to watch this hockey game and well enjoy it. Patrick Sharp and Brandon Saad scored for the Blackhawks, who have lost both of their Winter Classic appearances as the team dropped a 6-4 decision to Detroit at Wrigley Field in 2009. Crawford made 32 saves. Its a fun process, it was a great experience, I think that we could have left here with a point, we would have been a lot happier with the whole build- up and the whole thrill and experience, said Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville. The fans were great. Theyre just a little happier than we are today. The first good chance came three minutes in when Brooks Laich skated in on a 2-on-1 break for the Caps, but his shot from the right wing was blocked away by Crawford. Just under seven minutes in, the Blackhawks had their own good scoring chance as Saad threw a shot on net that Holtby blocked and then blocked Saads follow-up backhander during 4-on-4 play. With each team still down a man, the Caps got on the scoreboard as Brent Seabrook misplayed the puck at the right point in the Washington end. Fehr caught up to the puck near the Chicago blueline and went in on a short break, shifting from the backhand to the forehand and sliding it just past the left pad of Crawford for a 1-0 lead at 7:01 of the first. The teams switched sides at the midway point of the first period, and the Capitals made it a 2-0 game two minutes later as strong work in the Chicago end saw Ovechkin finish off a rebound in front off a Mike Green shot from the right point. Chicago, though, got on the board 1 1/2 minutes later on the power play after Nicklas Backstrom was called for holding. A left circle faceoff win saw Chicago control the puck in the Washington end, and Sharp wristed the puck in from the high slot with Andrew Shaw providing a screen in front. The Caps nearly regained their two-goal edge less than two minutes into the second as Ovechkin beat Crawford with a wrister from the right wing, but the shot rang off the crossbar. The Blackhawks tied the game at 3:15 of the second thanks to a good bounce. John Carlson had the puck to the left of his goaltender and tried to backhand a pass off the backboards, but the disc sat there at Marian Hossa was able to grab it. Hossa then sent a quick pass out front to Toews, who quickly passed it over to his left where Saad had a wide open net for his ninth goal of the season. The Blackhawks had a solid chance to take the lead later in the second, as the team skated 5-on-3 for 1:31 after a pair of minors from the Caps near the midway point, but they were unable to generate any opportunities. You dont score on five and threes, you generally dont win and that ended up being the result, said Quenneville. Chicago went just 1-for-6 on the power play, while Washington finished the game 1-for-4. Game Notes Temperature at game time was 41 degrees, with much of the ice under the sun, thereby necessitating the teams switching sides in the first period to equalize any advantages. In the second and third periods, the entire ice was under shade, and there was no side-switching ... Last April, Nik Stauskass season at Michigan came crashing to a halt with a tough 82-76 loss to the Louisville Cardinals in the NCAA Championship game. Ryan Stanton Jersey . The 66" shooting guard started all but six games in his freshman year, averaging 11 points per game and shooting .440 from the three-point line. Based on his post-game comments, it was clear that he took the championship loss hard. "We just got to move on," he said, his eyes clearly filled with tears. "I know myself, Im going to get back in the gym tomorrow to start working on my game." Stauskas wasnt giving lip service. The dozen or so shooting videos, shot from his backyard in Mississauga, Ontario in sun, rain and snow on YouTube, attest to his incredible drive. His quest for improvement was doubly as important as the top two players on the Wolverines, National Player of the Year, Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway, Jr., were both selected as first-round picks in this past Junes NBA Draft. With their departure, someone had to emerge on the team to pick up the slack and Stauskass work ethic would not allow it to be anyone else but him. "It just comes from me loving the game," he said. "I enjoy playing basketball, so its not really work for me. I enjoy getting better and anytime you go out there and see yourself being successful, it motivates you to try even more and get even better. Its kind of like a cycle for me - the better I get, the more I want to work." Already established as one of the best shooters in college basketball, Stauskas spent the summer in Ann Arbor, Michigan, rounding out his game. Working on his ball-handling to take defenders off the dribble and finish at the rim, he also added 16 pounds of muscle to his lithe frame. The result of his efforts was something no one expected him to do, by averaging 18.2 points in his first 11 games of the season. When met with stiffer competition in the Big 10 Conference, he led the Wolverines to a 9-1 record in one of the toughest conferences in the NCAA, all of which translated into Michigan moving up the national rankings and garnering the sophomore a spot on the Naismith Award Midseason Top 30 list. "Ive never really had recognition like that before," Stauskas said. "To be put in that group with those guys, its an honour. Theyre all really talented and its a prestigious award. Im happy that I can be there and that my work is paying off." Yet as Stauskass talent continues to develop with increased freedom and responsibility, opposing coaches have recognized this, as well. In some games, he has been neutralized as defences key in on Michigans primary threat. "I think the biggest challenge for me personally has just been addressing the way teams have been defending me," he said. "A lot of teams have been preparing for me, more than anyone else on our team. Getting double-teamed and being face-guarded has been an adjustment for me, cause Ive never had to deal with that before. Its made me work harder in a lot of areas I havent had to work on before." Stauskass growth, however, isnt solely physical, as he has had to make the adjustment to being a leader on his team. "Its tougher to pick up the rest of the team and stay positive and encourage everyone else while you struggle personally," Stauskas. Yet, he recognizes its a necessary adjustment to take his team and game to the next level. His focus and drive to succeed wont allow him to think otherwise. This April, Stauskas has similar visions on what another Michigan group of fabulous freshmen accomplished in consecutive seasons - back-to-back trips to the NCAA Championship game. "After the loss we had in the Final Four, obviously our goal is to get back there and win that championship game," he said. "At the same time, we came two points away from winning a Big 10 Championship. Those are both goals I want to achieve coming back this year. The way were playing right now, I think were right on pace to do that, we just have to keep working hard." Wayne Gretzky Jersey . Murray beat Sam Querrey 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-3 to clinch Britains opening-round victory against the United States on Sunday at Petco Park. "Im proud of the way Im playing just now, because I had to do a lot of work to get back to where I want to be," Murray said after celebrating with his teammates on the red clay court in a temporary stadium in left field of the downtown home of baseballs San Diego Padres. Esa Tikkanen Jersey . They were right in that they responded to coach Randy Carlyles goaltending switch to erase a two-goal deficit. OAKLAND, Calif. -- Craig Gentry is committed to doing what he can to help the Athletics win another division crown in 2014. The As added outfield depth Tuesday by acquiring Gentry along with right-hander Josh Lindblom from the division rival Texas Rangers for outfielder Michael Choice and minor league infielder Chris Bostick. The teams announced the deal Tuesday, a day after Oakland traded for AL saves leader Jim Johnson in a swap with Baltimore and also reached agreement on a $22 million, two-year contract with left-handed starter Scott Kazmir. "I definitely didnt anticipate it, it caught me off guard a little bit," Gentry said. "Being on the other side of the white lines from these guys so many years, its a great ballclub." While the two-time defending AL West champion As have their starting outfield returning in centre fielder Coco Crisp, left fielder Yoenis Cespedes and right fielder Josh Reddick, Gentry provides an option off the bench and creates depth. The returnees have dealt with injuries in recent seasons. Gentry said he is comfortable playing all three outfield spots. "I really dont know what my role is going to be," said Gentry, who had yet to speak to the As brass. "Hopefully whatever I can to help the team keep winning and keep up their streak. They handle themselves, they play hard. That team is exactly the type of player I am. I think Im going to fit in well over there." Gentry batted .280 with two homers and 22 RBIs in 106 games for the Rangers this year, while Lindblom went 1-3 with a 5. Ryan Smyth Jersey. 46 ERA in five starts and three relief appearances over three stints with the Rangers this year. Gentry received a call from Rangers general manager Jon Daniels while on the golf course Tuesday with news of the trade. "Its a big rivalry between Oakland and Texas," Gentry said of his success against the As. For the Rangers, acquiring Choice brings the outfielder back home to Texas -- and he will have a chance to contribute right away rather than be competing to make the big league team out of spring training with Oakland. "Its something Ive always dreamed about, playing at home," said Choice, a Fort Worth native who grew up attending Rangers games while going to high school and college in Arlington. The 24-year-old Choice, taken by Oakland with the 10th overall pick in the 2010 amateur draft, made his major league debut in September and played nine games late in the season for the As, batting .278 with a double and two runs scored. Daniels considers Choice an option for now and the future. Choice could become the everyday left fielder if the Rangers dont re-sign Nelson Cruz. Bostick played for Class A Beloit in 2013 and hit .282 with 14 home runs and 89 RBIs in 129 games. He drew 51 walks for a .354 on-base percentage and stole 25 bases. He provides depth for the organization in the middle infield. Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Cheap NFL Jerseys China Discount NFL Jerseys Cheap Authentic Jerseys Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK, N. Ahmad Brooks Jersey .Y. - The New York Knicks say forwards Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin both could miss two weeks because of sprained left ankles. Both players were hurt Thursday night in a 117-89 loss at Indiana and underwent MRI exams on Friday. The Knicks said Stoudemires test also revealed a bone bruise, and Martins confirmed tendinitis. Martin was in the starting lineup recently while Tyson Chandler was ill, but had returned to a reserve role. Stoudemire, forced to play restricted minutes or sit out some games entirely earlier in the season after off-season knee surgery, had played in 14 straight games and scored more than 20 points in three of them. Mike Daniels Jersey . But when it was all over they had wasted another lead, seen another pitcher flame out on the mound and lost their fourth straight at home. Ty Montgomery Jersey . I wondered how NHL coaches would feel about a playoff schedule that allowed them to open a best-of-seven series on the road, which many claim to favour, yet still gave them the precious home-ice edge for a seventh game.MILWAUKEE -- After watching Milwaukee win its sixth straight against the Rockies, Colorado manager Walt Weiss had a simple explanation for the Brewers success. "Theyve been good against everybody," he said. Carlos Gomez launched a three-run homer and Matt Garza battled into the seventh inning for his first win in four starts to help the Brewers continue their mastery of the Rockies with a 7-4 victory Saturday. "Theyve got the best record in the National League," Weiss said. "Theyre doing everything well. All aspects of their game are rolling right now. Theyre getting good starts, the bullpen has been very good and its a potent lineup. You put all those things together and youve got 50-plus wins at this point." Garza (5-5) pitched five scoreless innings before allowing two runs each in the sixth and seventh. His first win since June 7 helped the Brewers improve to a season-high 19 games above .500 at 51-32. They also are 6-0 against the Rockies this season. Francisco Rodriguez, who got the victory Friday night despite blowing the save, pitched a perfect ninth inning for his majors-best 27th save. "Ive never played with an offence as good as this," said Garza, who is 3-1 in six June starts with a 2.88 ERA. "When I played with Tampa, we were lucky to scratch out what we could. Chicago, you know the story there. You just keep going. Its a different type of mindset. When you get runs this quick, you have to keep attacking. You cant let up: stay aggressive, go after these guys and not give in. Gomez staked the Brewers to a 3-0 lead in the first with his 13th home run. Ryan Braun and Jonathan Lucroy reached on consecutive singles and Gomez then drove a 3-2 pitch from Jhoulys Chacin (1-7) over the centre-field wall. "I just tried to keep it simple," said Gomez, who left the game in the seventh inning with a left neck strain after colliding with Braun in the outfield. "They got me out the whole series in Colorado and here. I didnt expect that pitch in. Its supposed to be a ball and I put good contact on it, I didnt try to do too much and thats how I did it." The Brewers added three runs in the fifth to make it 6-0. Jean Segura singled to open, advanced on Garzas sacrifice bunt and moved to third on Scooter Gennetts infiield single. Kevin King Jersey. Braun followed with a triple into the corner when right-fielder Charlie Blackmon missed on a diving attempt at the sinking liner. Braun scored on Lucroys groundout. Colorado got two runs in the sixth after loading the bases with three consecutive one-out singles. Drew Stubbs bloop single to shallow right drove in one run and Troy Tulowitzki followed with a sacrifice fly. The Brewers answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on Lyle Overbays RBI single to increase the lead to 7-2. The Rockies chased Garza with two runs in the seventh on a single by Wilin Rosario, a double by Ryan Wheeler and D.J. LeMahieus two-run single. "Eight out of those nine hits they got, I thought probably werent hard enough, but theyre still hits," said Garza, signed to a $50 million, four-year deal, "Sometimes they fall in so you have to just keep making pitches. Its frustrating but we still came out with a W so it is what it is. Ill take the soft hits over them barrelling them up." In the third inning, the Brewers successfully challenged a call by first base umpire C.B. Bucknor. Josh Rutledge singled to open and LeMahieu followed with a liner to second baseman Rickie Weeks. The throw to first from Weeks hit Rutledge, who got back safely when first baseman Overbay couldnt corral the ball. Rutledge then came off the bag again, but dove back and was originally called safe on the tag by Overbay. The call was overturned after a review of 1 minute, 42 seconds. NOTES: The Brewers said Gomez is day to day. ... To eliminate the shadows between the mound and home plate during day games at Miller Park, the first-base half of the roof was closed, while the third-base side remained completely open. . Jabari Parker, the first-round pick of the Milwaukee Bucks and the No. 2 overall pick in the recent NBA draft, threw out the first pitch, wearing a Brewers jersey with his name and No. 12 on the back. The 6-foot-8 right-hander snapped off a one-hopper to the plate. . The third-inning challenge was the Brewers first since May 31. They are 6-5 in challenges. . Brewers shortstop Segura left in the sixth inning with leg cramps. ... Weiss unsuccessfully challenged a call when Tulowitzki was thrown out attempting to steal second to end the eighth inning. Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Cheap NFL Jerseys China Discount NFL Jerseys Cheap Authentic Jerseys Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys ' ' '

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Kelechi Osemele Jersey . -- Stan Van Gundy introduced his new general manager Wednesday and then tried to quell any concerns over how the Detroit Pistons would distribute power within their front office. "I think the final decision thing gets overblown," Van Gundy said. "What we want is a collaborative process with a lot of hard-working, intelligent people, who are thinking, and then use the process to come to a decision." Jeff Bower is now the teams general manager, after Van Gundy was hired as coach and team president last month. They both appeared at a news conference, then were available for more informal interviews afterward. Van Gundy was surrounded by reporters almost immediately, and its clear that hes still the face of the franchises next big effort to return to relevance. But Bower brings plenty of experience at the NBA level to his new job. He was the coach at Marist College last season, but hes been a general manager and coach in the pros with New Orleans. "Hes done almost everything at the NBA level," Van Gundy said. "Hes been an assistant coach, hes been a head coach, hes been a scout, hes been an assistant general manager, hes been a general manager, so hes got an experience that really allows him to know the NBA on every level of what goes on in terms of basketball operations." Bower said his coaching experience helps shape the way he evaluates talent. "Being able to see how players change and the impact that you can have on a players game -- always kind of kept that thought process in mind, that you can improve players, and that players can get better," Bower said. Bower was the general manager of the Charlotte-New Orleans Hornets from 2001-03 and again from 2005-10. He also coached the team in 2009-10, going 34-39. Bower has also been an assistant coach at Penn State and Marist. Van Gundy said their relationship dates to when Bower was an assistant at Marist and Van Gundy was an assistant at Fordham. "Ive always had a tremendous respect for people who have really had to work their way up the ladder," Van Gundy said. Detroit went 29-53 last season, missing the playoffs for a fifth straight year. That disappointing performance helped lead to the end of Joe Dumars tenure as team president. Van Gundy said he felt the players could have performed better last season, and Detroit does have a young standout to build around in big man Andre Drummond. Greg Monroe is a restricted free agent, so much of the off-season outlook may depend on whether he returns to the Pistons. Detroit does not have a first-round draft pick. That selection was lost because of a trade made by the previous front office, but Bower is hopeful the Pistons can improve themselves in the draft anyway. "The 38th pick can be a pick of value," Bower said. "Although its not a first-round pick, we would hope to be able to dig in and find a prospect that can provide value to the team and to the organization." Otis Sistrunk Jersey . -- Wide receiver Sidney Rice should be fully recovered from a torn knee ligament by the time the Seattle Seahawks start defence of their Super Bowl title, general manager John Schneider said Wednesday. Jihad Ward Jersey . -- Chicago manager Darold Butler has a message for the Windy City.Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Gase will be joining John Fox in Chicago, with the Bears reaching an agreement with the former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator to take over the same position. Gase was a member of Foxs staff during the latters entire four-year run as the Broncos head coach, serving as the teams offensive coordinator in each of the past two seasons. His first season as a play-caller produced prolific results. The 2013 Broncos set an NFL record with 76 touchdowns and 606 total points, while their 7,317 total yards were the second-most in league history. Quarterback Peyton Manning set a new season mark by throwing for 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns en route to a fifth career MVP while leading Denver to an appearance in Super Bowll XLVIII. Jerry Rice Jersey. Denvers offense again ranked among the leagues best this past season, finishing second in points scored and fourth in total yards. Gase worked as the Broncos quarterbacks coach for two seasons before taking over the offensive coordinators role, and previously was the teams wide receivers coach from 2009-10. The 36-year-old Gase had been a candidate for Denvers head coaching job following the clubs parting of ways with Fox after its loss to Indianapolis in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. The Broncos instead decided on former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak while overhauling the majority of its staff. Gase also interviewed for the Bears head coaching position prior to the teams hiring of Fox last week. Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaDiscount NFL Jerseys Cheap Authentic Jerseys Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Just 0:33 seconds later, Reinhart passed it to Jones at the left circle who toe dragged it to the crease and jammed it through Simpsons five-hole to give the Heat a 3-0 edge. After allowing three goals on the first four shots, Simpson was pulled in favour of LaBarbera. Ross got the IceHogs on the board at 16:33 of the second, receiving a pass from Hartman near the goal-line and throwing it on net and under Ortios arm. With 2:26 remaining in the period, Klas Dahlbeck picked up a rebound at the point and fired it towards an open net, but Ortio dove across the crease in desperation to keep the score 3-1. Clendening cut the score to 4-2 at 6:40 of the third, receiving a pass from Phillip Danault at the right circle and firing a slap shot on Ortio, who flubbed a glove save. Johns, playing in just his second career AHL game, found himself alone behind the net and wrapped it around to squeak it past a sprawling Ortio at 10:06 of the third. Brett Olson added an empty-net goal with 0:31 seconds remaining in the game. Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Cheap NFL Jerseys China Discount NFL Jerseys Cheap Authentic Jerseys Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Running back Ray Rice has won his appeal. Arian Foster Jersey . The celebration will be short lived, I suspect, as, materially, very little changes for Rice. He doesn’t have a team and is unlikely to find one. On behalf of Rice, the NFLPA argued before arbitrator Barbara Jones that Rice was punished twice for the same offence, namely, beating his wife Janay Palmer-Rice. Since the league can’t punish a player twice for the same offence, the NFLPA argued that Rice’s indefinite suspension should be overturned. On the other hand, the NFL argued that Rice’s account of what happened was ambiguous and that it never saw the elevator video before suspending Rice for two games. However, when it saw the video, that constituted something new, thereby justifying new discipline. Jones sided with the NFLPA, believing that Rice was candid and transparent with the league over what transpired in the elevator. On that basis, Jones agreed Rice should be reinstated. And that will happen, since the NFL has elected not to challenge Jones’s decision. Here’s the conclusion rendered by Jones in her decision: “Because Rice did not mislead the Commissioner and because there were no new facts on which the Commissioner could base his increased suspension, I find that the imposition of the indefinite suspension was arbitrary. I therefore vacate the second penalty imposed on Rice.” Now what? For Rice, not much. While he has won his appeal, he is toxic and it is difficult to imagine a team signing the running back. If a team elected to add Rice, it would risk significant pushback from fans, sponsors and media partners. Make no mistake about – Rice will not be forgiven. His actions were appalling and deeply troubling. If any team signs Rice, the report will include the video. It will be played on an endless loop. No team can withstand that type of scrutiny. Bottom line is, signing Rice would be a terrible business decision for any team and could possibly cause the team irreparable harm. It doesn’t help Rice that running backs have become interchangeable in a pass-heavy league. As far as running backs go, it’s become plug-and-play. Just last week, Rice’s replacement Justin Forsett shredded the Saints defence for 182 yards on the ground. Rice does have a second grievance pending against the Ravens. In that case, Rice is not asking to be put back on the team. Remember, the Ravens cut him. Rice just wants to be paid the $3.52 million he feels he’s owned. Despite his reinstatement, it seems like Rice’s days in the NFL are done. Tyler Ervin Jersey . The cause of his death is as of yet undetermined, but police said foul play is not suspected. Tom Savage Jersey . An unconventional night for Texas-El Paso nearly led to the Miners getting a huge upset. Down by 14 with 2:21 left, the Miners went on a frantic closing spurt that fell just short, and UTEP was beaten by No.New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - San Jose Earthquakes striker Yannick Djalo was named the Player of the Week on Monday for Week 20 of the 2014 Major League Soccer season. Djalo notched a goal and two assists in San Joses 5-1 defeat of the Chicago Fire on July 23. His first assist of the night came in the 45th minute when he lobbed a pass down the left wing for midfielder Shea Salinas drift into the box, evade a defender and send a curling right-footed shot into the upper right corner. Djalos goal came in the 79th minute when he latched on to a pass from Cordeell Cato and hit a first-time chip over the keeper to make the score 4-1. Zach Cunningham Jersey. His final stamp on the game came five minutes when he spotted Chris Wondolowski in stride in Chicagos defensive third. Wondolowski played the ball central to find Cato, who finished off the move with an acrobatic volley inside the six-yard box. The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from the North America Soccer Reporters (NASR). SOCHI – Slow and messy starts seem to be par for the course for the Canadian mens Olympic hockey team. Mark Ingram Jersey . Even though, the 2014 edition enjoyed three days of practice and four skates, in total, before the opener, Sidney Crosby and Co. were not sharp in their 3-1 win against Norway at the Bolshoy Ice Palace on Thursday. There was little authority from Canada. There were some nerves. But slow starts have been the case in the past three Winter Games, when Canada usually had only a day or two of on-ice sessions before the game-action began. Norway deserves credit for its determined game and defensive zone coverage. But even though the Canadians outshot their opponents 38-20, their power play (0-for-2) was abysmal and their scoring touch around Norwegian goalie Lars Haugen was missing in action. Canadian head coach Mike Babcock revealed afterwards that his club mustered only 24 scoring chances. Canada pulled out the victory because the fourth line of Jamie Benn, John Tavares and Patrice Bergeron came to play, despite limited ice time, and the defence played an active and effective game offensively. At best-on-best tournaments like the Olympics, Canadian players remark time and time again that they want to get better as the tournament goes on. Sometimes they overcome slow starts, like in 2002 and 2010. Sometimes they dont, like in 2006. But a common theme has been a slow start in the preliminary rounds. 2002 L 5-2 SwedenW 3-2 GermanyT 3-3 Czech Republic 2006 W 7-2 ItalyW 5-1 GermanyL 2-0 Switzerland 2010 W 8-0 NorwayW 3-2 Switzerland (shootout)L 5-3 United States Canadian Olympic teams struggle to come together quickly. It doesnt matter if its the bigger international-sized ice surface or the smaller NHL rink. One of the reasons is because they are asked to take on different roles and reduced ice time. Not every one can make the adjustment seamlessly. John Kuhn Jersey . Reimer is winless (0-2-1) since returning from a six-week absence due to concussion-like symptoms. The Maple Leafs dropped a 4-2 decision to the hosting Washington Capitals on Friday. Ted Ginn Jr Jersey . The agreement comes a little more than one week after the video game manufacturer agreed to a $40 million settlement in a similar but separate case, bringing the total payout planned for athletes to $60 million, said Steve Berman, an attorney for the plaintiffs, and the NCAA.Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce says Premier League safety is far from a foregone conclusion for his side. Saturday was a great day for the Black Cats as they twice came from behind to secure a stunning 3-2 win over Chelsea at the Stadium of Light, while relegation rivals Newcastle and Norwich picked up just a point between them. The confluence of results means that another victory for Sunderland at home to Everton on Wednesday - live on Sky Sports - would guarantee their survival. Roberto Martinezs men are winding down what is seen in many quarters as a disappointing season and they never looked like crashing Leicesters title-winning party on Saturday, conceding an early goal and slipping to a 3-1 defeat. I hope there is not a feeling out there that this game is a foregone conclusion. It will be anything but. Sam Allardyce However, Allardyce says he will be wary of Everton and thinks criticism of their recent displays will spur them on.I hope there is not a feeling out there that this game is a foregone conclusion, said the Sunderland boss. It will be anything but. Wahbi Khazri was among the goal scorers when Sunderland beat Chelsea at the weekend Everton have been criticised for their performance against Leicester and I think that will get a reaction from their players and Roberto here on Wednesday. A.J. Klein Jersey. .I think we will see Everton trying their best to spoil our evening. We must be in top form and be as committed as we were on Saturday, if we are to get the result we are looking for. Allardyce thinks Everton will provide stiff opposition on Wednesday Allardyce agreed that Saturdays victory had put his side in a good position but quickly returned to the need to avoid complacency.Everybody has been relaxing and enjoyed the day off yesterday, he said. Now we have to focus for Wednesdays big game against Everton. The outcome of Saturdays result means, if we can secure another victory, we are safe with one game to go.It is obviously going to be crucial to us that we give as good a performance as we gave on Saturday against Chelsea. Team USA and Predators general manager David Poile is expected to return to work in Nashville next week as he continues to recover from injuries suffered when he was hit by an errant puck at practice on Feb. Al MacInnis Jersey . 6. Poile suffered a fractured orbital bone and fractures in his nose when he was hit during Nashvilles morning skate in Minnesota nearly two weeks ago. He had two surgeries that afternoon and returned home to Nashville three days later. The team said on Tuesday that Poile had another eye-related procedure at Vanderbilt Medical Center last Friday. The injuries prevented him from attending the Sochi Olympics, but he has been in contact with Ray Shero and USA Hockey during the Games. "I know that I have a challenging road ahead, but am going to embrace the challenge and am eager to get back to work," Poile said in a statement. "Thank you, in particular to the medical teams at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., and Vanderbilt Medical Center here in Nashville for the outstanding care and attention I have received and continue to receive. Thanks also to all those in Nashville and throughout the hockey community who have reached out to offer support and encouragement. It has been uplifting and most appreciated. Im looking forward to watching USAs quest for the Gold Medal in Sochi and the Predators resuming the playoff race." Gary Roberts Jersey . Defensive Depth TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun is reporting the Toronto Maple Leafs have considerable interest in unrestricted free-agent defenceman Dan Boyle. Troy Brouwer Jersey . Charlottetown scored four times in the third period en route to a 5-2 win over the defending champion Halifax Mooseheads on Friday.RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - Brian Stuard birdied seven of his first 12 holes in windy conditions to take the first-round lead in the Puerto Rico Open on Thursday. Stuard finished with a 6-under 66, dropping a stroke on the par-4 seventh hole — his 16th of the day — in gusts of up to 20 mph (32 kph) at Trump International Golf Club-Puerto Rico. "Wind is blowing pretty good out there, so got to hit some good shots," Stuard said. "I did well. I kept it in play nice off the tee, didnt get in much trouble, and only made the one bogey." The highest ranked player in the field in the FedEx Cup standings at No. 13, Stuard finished second in November in the OHL Classic in Mexico. He also had a strong run in January, fishing sixth in the Sony Open in Hawaii and sixth the next week in the Humana Challenge in California. "Ive just been playing prettty solid, but been putting well," Stuard said. Brandon Bollig Jersey. . "I putted really good to start off the year and then kind of last few weeks not quite as good and then good today." Jason Gore and Danny Lee shot 67, and Y.E. Yang was another stroke back along with Ricky Barnes, William McGirt, Tim Petrovic, Chesson Hadley, Eric Axley and Ben Martin. "It wasnt easy out there," Lee said. "It was very windy, and theres some tough pin placements out there, but I played very smart today and I hit it where I wanted to hit it, and I rolled it really nicely with the putter. It was a really good day for me." Defending champion Scott Brown opened with a 70. Brooks Koepka, a field-high 70th in the world ranking, shot 72. John Daly had a triple-bogey 7 on the par-4 12th hole in a round of 74. Cheap Jerseys 2018Cheap Jerseys 2018 Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping China Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale China NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

My thumbs up to Los Angeles Kings coach Darryl Sutter. Chris McCullough Jersey ...for being Darryl Sutter. Reporters who asked if he was concerned about his Los Angeles Kings bad start in Detroit on Friday (they fell behind 4-0 in the first period) were probably expecting an obvious answer when they should have been expecting a Darryl Sutter answer. And this was it: Concerning? Whats concerning about it? Youll have leads and you wont have leads. Were playing our third game in four nights and theyre here waiting for us. Theyve got four fast lines and six defencemen who can move the puck. You might be able to accuse Sutter of being obstinate, of doing all he can to avoid agreeing with others who think the loss to the Red Wings should have bothered him more, but whatever made him go in the opposite direction is all good. As is every answer from a coach that is worth writing down when so many of them arent. -- My thumb is down to the NHL for its stubborn failure to include some sort of coachs challenge in its video review process. Two things that happened this week made it even harder for the NHL to avoid the inevitable. In Washington on Wednesday, Detroits Luke Glendening was penalized for goalie interference and a Detroit goal was wiped out. The goal should have counted because Glendening was completely innocent on a play that saw Caps goalie Braden Holtby fall down. It was as simple as that and a second look based on a coachs challenge would have lasted five seconds. The other reminder for the NHL that its behind the times came from the seventh game of the World Series. Because Bruce Bochy was able to challenge an incorrect safe call at first base, the San Francisco Giants were awarded a double play. It was the first-ever successful managers challenge in World Series history. Maybe it wouldnt have mattered if the Kansas City Royals had had a runner at first base with one out in the third inning, but Madison Bumgarner wasnt on the mound yet and the importance of one runner in a one-run game speaks for itself. And those in the NHL who know its time to follow baseballs lead need to speak louder. Michael Jordan Jersey . The Tiger-Cats announced on Friday the linebacker has signed a new contract with the team through the 2016 season. Tim Frazier Jersey . Off-Season Game Plan examines a team facing some challenging times as GM Bryan Murray tries to put together a roster for next season. Perhaps the first challenge facing Murray is that its expected he will be moving out Jason Spezza, a premier point producer who is about to enter the final year of his contract. The Toronto Raptors target their fourth win of the season when they visit the Boston Celtics Wednesday at TD Garden. You can catch the action on TSN1, TSN3, TSN4 and TSN5, or listen on TSN Radio 1050 at 7pm et/4pm pt. The Raptors rebounded from their only loss of the season with Tuesdays 100-88 victory over the injury-riddled Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder were without superstars Kevin Durant (foot) and Russell Westbrook (hand). DeMar DeRozan scored 16 points and Patrick Patterson added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Raptors. Tyler Hansbrough and Lou Williams scored 12 points apiece in the win, and the Raptors gained control of the game after trailing 30-23 after the first quarter. Their energy was unbelievable, Raptors guard Kyle Lowry said of his teammates. They were just everywhere all over the floor. Lowry was one of eight players with at least eight points. Toronto netted 30 points off 21 OKC turnovers and shot 39.5 percent. The team held on despite making only 8-of-31 3-pointers. The Raptors will head back home after Wednesdays trip to Boston for seven consecutive games. In injury news for Toronto, center Jonas Valanciunas left the game against the Thunder with an injured nose. He also sustained a right hand contusion on Thursday and although he is traveling with the team, he is doubtful for tonight. Forward Amir Johnson (ankle) did not play in Tuesdays game and will miss his third straight game tonight. Kelly Oubre Jr. Jersey. . He is day-to-day. Raptors coach Dwane Casey needs five wins to tie Lenny Wilkens (113) for second on the teams all-time coaching victories list. Sam Mitchell is first with 156 victories. The Celtics are back home after an unsuccessful trip through Texas (Houston, Dallas) and will play 11 of the next 15 games at TD Garden. Boston suffered a 118-113 loss to the Mavericks on Monday and was led by Jeff Green and Avery Bradley. Green and Bradley poured in 35 and 32 points, respectively, Jared Sullinger scored 14 points and Rajon Rondo contributed seven points, 15 assists and nine rebounds. The Celtics trailed 40-19 after 12 minutes, but battled back in the second half. They outscored the Mavericks, 72-51, over the final 24 minutes and their 17 turnovers led to 28 Dallas points. Its easy to play when youre down 26. Its hard to play when youre up 26, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said of the difference between the first and second half. I dont want to make it like its the comeback of all comebacks ... but our guys did make some plays in the second half. Stevens squad is second in the NBA in scoring with 108.0 points per game and is second-to-last in opponents scoring (109.0 ppg). Toronto is averaging 104.8 ppg and went 3-1 against the Celtics a season ago. The Celtics have played exceptionally well against the Raptors at home as evidenced by their 20-3 mark in the last 23 chances. Cheap Jerseys 2018 Cheap Jerseys 2018 Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping China Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale China NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
